Operation Watchtower Q&A

Perry Cocke, writing on the ASL Mailing List...

We didn't discover until after the original maps were throw away that when re-printing the map the printer had used an old file from before we had cleaned up the ambiguities.  Ouch.

And Bruce Probst wrote:

So, someone who has both versions of the map should be able to resolve ambiguities on the second map by looking at the first map?

Cool.

So, I volunteered. What follows is a list of hexes that some people find "ambiguous" with regard to crest lines and terrain type. The general "rule of thumb" with regard to crest lines is to assume that the hex is at the HIGHER elevation. After looking at the hexes listed below, I'd also say that in general the terrain is the most restrictive. In other words, if there is a question between open ground and jungle, it's almost always jungle.

These are UNOFFICIAL - purely my opinion based on looking at both maps. Hexes with an asterisk are especially unclear, on both maps, but I've listed my opinion... Perry, if you're out there, if you could look these over and let me know if I have any of them wrong. (Sam)
