Fairy of Perfume
Fairy of Perfume
Once a year in the land of fairies, there is a competition to decide who is the best perfumer in the country.
You, a human being, have been invited as a special guest.
The goal is to create a perfume that will captivate the fragrant fairies.
Come enjoy the annual festival with us!
On your turn you can perform 2 of 5 actions:
- buy one new gem, when you buy a gem you place it on your board, not in your bottle!
Each gem means something else:
Yellow gets you 1 coin
Green gives you 1 Fairy point
Red gives your neighbours a black coal
White gives you 2 Fairy points
Blue gives you 3 coins
Purple does nothing but scores 6 points at the end of the game
- place all your gems on your player board in your bottle
- shake gems from your bottle. You have a minimum value of gems to take out (bottom left on your player board) and a maximum. If you ever take out more gems than your maximum, you need to take a black coal and place it into your bottle immediately! If you empty your bottle, you need to place 2 coals in your bottle immediately. Black coals are bad, as they score -2 points at the end of the game.
- discard one gem from your player board (meaning from the ones you shook out of the bottle or ones that you bought, can also be black)
- activate an ability or end game scoring card. I just mentioned you have a maximum and minimum amount of gems you need to shake from your bottle, indicated by the cubes your your player board. You can increase either of the values by taking the cubes and placing them on either an ability or goal card. However, doing this costs you X Fairy points.
Abilities can be: you can buy an extra gem, discard an extra gem, if you take out an odd number of gems you get a coin, an even number gives you a point, or when you shake out a green gem you get a point.
Goals can be a specific set of gem colours, no gems of a specific colour, most or least gems or coins. There are 10 different goal cards in total, so enough variety.
When the purple gems are all bought, the game is over! Score points for the objectives with your marker on them, the points you gained throughout the game, purple gems and deduct points for the black coals.
By the way, you can also call the help of the fairies, meaning you can spend X fairy points to perform an extra action on your turn.
There is also a B side to the player board, about 12 different goals and different player powers, which means enough variety and interesting choices.
