Pizza Roles
Pizza Roles
Pizza Roles is a ten-minute "filler" hidden roles game where your role is what you want on your pizza but are too timid to say. Play simulates a conversation about what kind of pizza to order with each player vying for what they want while trying not to seem overbearing.
Eight Topping cards represent the game state. Gameplay consists mostly of moving these Topping cards back and forth between the "not on the pizza" zone and the "on the pizza" zone. Each player is dealt a secret Role card showing their objectives in the game and a small hand of Conversation cards they can play to manipulate the Topping cards.
Players take turns either playing a Conversation card from their hand to change the Toppings or choosing to pass. Players can always choose to pass, but the game will end as soon as the majority of players pass in succession.
When the game ends, players reveal their secret Roles and any Toppings in the "on the pizza" zone will score. Points are totaled and all players with a positive score are joint winners. Sometimes, everybody wins!
There is also a cooperative mode with slightly modified rules: Players must work together to make sure that everybody is happy with a pizza because if a single player loses, ALL players lose. Luckily, players make two pizzas instead of one and only score using the best pizza for each Role.
