Renown
Renown
Created by Nicholas Kay, 'Renown: A Game of Knightly Virtue' is a card and dice game. Players draw "quest" cards which state a dice value, the reward for rolling at least this value, and the penalty for rolling less than this value. After a card is drawn, all players simultaneously play "event" cards that modify the minimum dice roll needed for success. The current player then rolls the dice and collects a reward/penalty, depending on the outcome.
From the back of the box: "Renown is a moderately lengthed, stand-alone card game for 3-8 people. As bold knights errant, players struggle to outdo each other in perilous quests for the sake of glory and honor. Fortune favors the bold; only one knight can gain enough renown to become a legend."
