Punchline
Punchline
Players take turns acting as the "emcee", a moderator position, every round. The emcee randomly draws a card from one of several categories and reads the it aloud. This "cue card" contains an unfinished joke. Each Comedian (player) must devise and write down a completed version of the joke. The players pass their completed jokes to the emcee, who then reads them in a random order. Each player then votes for his/her favorite (beside their own, of course). The player with the most votes gets to keep the cue card. The first player to receive a certain number of cue cards (based on the number of players), wins.
The categories are as follows:
Punchline
The Cue Card gives the punchline to a joke. The Comedian (player) must write the setup (beginning) of the joke.
Missing Pieces
The Cue Card gives a one liner with some pieces missing. The
Comedian must finish writing the one liner by filling each blank
with one or more words.
What's So Funny?
The Cue Card gives the setup to a joke. The Comedian must
write the punchline.
Bright Idea
The Cue Card gives the setup to the ever-popular “light bulb”
joke. The Comedian must write the punchline.
Limerick
The Cue Card gives the first four lines of a limerick. The
Comedian must write the fifth line.
Tie-breaker
In the case that two or more comedians receive an equal number of votes, a tie-breaker round must be played. The emcee draws a card from the top of the tie-breaker photo card pile and shows it to all comedians. Each tying comedian writes a humorous caption for the photo. When all captions have been completed, each competing comedian reads his/her caption aloud. The non-competing players then vote for the funniest caption. The comedian who receives the most votes receives the original cue card.
There are several booster packs.
